Lent Week 4 – Living Expectantly (4/6/2025)

Throughout Jesus time in Jerusalem, Jesus encounters Pharisees who are completely content with the status quo. They have forsaken their identity as God’s chosen people, God’s agents of blessing, in this world. So he warns to his disciples, instead of living like these Pharisee, live like ones who expect the end of the world now – as one who expects his master’s return at any moment. IN essence, he is reminding them: Our life matters. We are called to live as ones ready to do God’s important, kingdom work. Not someday, but now. So live like it.
